Mass Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) Coaching Courses
All intramural coaches are asked to take the NSCAA 4v4 entry level course.
It will transform your coaching experience as it will give you the tools needed to be successful coaching younger kids.
The NSCAA entry level courses are offered in towns close to Wayland both during the fall and spring.
All BAYS coaches are asked to take the NSCAA 7v7/9v9 and 11v11 entry level courses.
When transitioning to BAYS (or travel) soccer, most intramural coaches find that they lack the basic understanding of the principles of the game (attack and defense) and that they don't properly understand how to teach technical and tactical skills to their players
The NSCAA 7v7/9v9 entry level course is a perfect way to develop the fundamental concepts of coaching older kids who play more complicated formations (ie. 7v7 and 9v9).
For BAYS grades 7 and 8, the 11v11 course is a great way for coaches to transition to full-field soccer.
All WAYS coaches have the opportunity to take advanced USSF coache course
US Soccer, through its partnership with MYSA, offers and advanced pathway for coaching development, and this pathway begins with the E License course.
This is a more rigorous pathway, with in-class and at-home coursework. This pathway begins with the E license course.
